The bigger picture

Lately I've realised that I keep losing sight of the big picture.

It's hard to see beyond the things that are happening right now...Right now my life is a mess, my house is a mess and I'm a mess and trying to see beyond that is truly dificult.

Slowly things in the house are beginning to fall into place. My room has been painted, the skirting boards have been put into place and I can finally sleep there.

There's still lots to do, I have to organise everything, slowly start moving things back into my room while also thinning down the clutter that has accumulated over the years.

I have to focus on the bigger picture when it comes to my room and believe that it will be worth it in the end.

Spending time with friends

With all this spare time I have on my hands, I've been trying to focus on all the things that are important to me. All the things in my life I want to keep, to focus on and have more of.

One thing I realised is that with this fresh start I want to focus more on my friends, before I was so stuck in my bubble that I didn't spend time with the important people in my life.

Today I left the house as it is and focused on being happy and having a nice time with my friends. Today we celebrated me leaving my job, my friend getting a new job as a teacher, my other friend finally getting their car. So today we drove to a nice little restaraunt and had a meal. We all talked for hours and realised now that we have the car we can go for a drive, so we went to Alexandra palace at the top of a hill that overlooks the whole of London.

You feel like you're on top of the world looking down, so there we were the four of us sitting looking over the world staring at the stars, the lights of the city and we talked. As we talked we thought about how amazing it is to actually just sit here and spend time together, how long its been since we last got together just the four of us.

As we talked we counted the years we've known eachother and realised that we've known eachother for 10 years maybe even more, as we sat there under the stars we thought about how much we've grown and how much we hope to grow. Today we decided to call it our 10 year anniversary and in 10 years time we hope to meet up at the same spot and look at how far we've come. This fresh start needs to have more moments like this.

Renovations update

Well my room is still a mess, the builders are hammering away attaching the cabinets to the walls and as I sit here with my kitchen in my living room I can't wait for it all to be over. I can't wait to have a fresh slate, to put only the main things I want to carry with me into this new fresh start. I've decided I'm going for a minimalist approach...to only have things in my life that I need, no extra baggage (because lets be honest there's alot of baggage I'm trying to avoid and get rid of).

This is the state of my room...After about three coats of paint, two sets of clothes covered in paint and one pair of jogging shoes in white specks. Finally me and dad have managed to cover the blue walls. Now I have brilliant white walls and I'm looking forward to the blank slate.

Today I've realised that some on the things on my list are unrealistic...I may have to prospone finding my pencils to start my drawing again instead I will be adding finishing my room decor to my list.

Renovations

Makeovers and renovations are always a great way to start fresh. When everything looks new, fresh and clean you feel like you have a clean slate that you can build up from.

In my house right now the kitchen is being completely remodelled. The tiles have been ripped out, the cabinets are in a pile outside and the kitchen sink is on stilts. 

Hopefully once all of this is sorted out and finished we can begin to have a fresh start.

Keeping busy update

Well today hasn't been half bad, I've managed to tick off a few things on my to dos list while thinking over what hobbies I can get back into.


Music seems to be calling out to me the most. There are soo many bands and sounds that I haven't been exposed to...getting lost in youtube has been surprisingly good for me. I got from one video to another clicking on suggestions of what I might also like and finding some great songs along the way.


My youtube browsing also contributes to my other blog ( music in my life ) which keeps me busy too.

After a bit of searching I managed to find my jogging shoes...

The only problem is they've been a victim of my redecorating and got a bit of paint on them, but its okay I guess. It's not like anyone will notice it while I run past.

Plan for tomorrow and my fresh start is to find my pencils and do a little doodling and if the weather is nice possibly do a bit of jogging to clear my mind and begin my day.

Keeping busy

Today I woke up and I've been thinking about all the free time I'm going to have now. Not having a job is pretty daunting, not knowing what my future will be like but right now I want to focus on me.

Last night I was finding it hard to sleep. I tried watching a few episodes of Grey's anatomy but I still couldn't sleep. Slowly I began to realise its been ages since I last doodled, read a book checked out the latest fashion trends or went out jogging. So I found a bit of paper grabbed a pen and doodled and this came out.

Now that I have all this free time I need to find something to keep me busy.

This fresh start needs a hobby, something I can do to keep me busy, keep my mind off the things I'm trying to leave behind me.

So far, blogging seems to help, spending time on youtube looking for new songs for my other blog helps and once I find my pencils and paper hopefully will start doodling again.

Getting out of a funk

It's time to have a fresh start.


This year didn't have the best start, what I thought was going to be the beginning, only turned out to be the end...So now I'm trying to pick myself up and have a start fresh. To work out what makes me happy, where I want to go in life and what I want to be.


I'm 22, a graduate and I'm starting fresh, turning over a new page and trying to discover who I am and who I will be...I quit my dead end job and now I have the time for my fresh start.




I've started off with the simple things...


Right now I'm still in the process of redecorating my room. My hands are covered in white paint, with flecks of it still in my hair. Everything in my room has been completely emptied out into boxes and I'm slowly trying to get rid of the clutter that has built up over the years.


Tomorrow I put the finishing touches on the window frames and hopefully start putting back my things once the paint dries.
